JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — One person is suffering from critical injuries after a shooting on the Westside Thursday afternoon, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.
Officers were dispatched to a local hospital in regards to a person shot.
When officers arrived at the hospital they found that the victim had been shot in the face.
The victim told police that he was shot in the 4000 block of Old Middleburg Road South, JSO said.
The victim was also able to provide a suspect description to the police.
After speaking with the victim, officers responded to the scene and took a person of interest into custody.
The victim remains in the hospital in critical condition, police said.
