Child expected to be OK after shooting in the Grand Park area, police say

During the shooting, JSO says what appears to be an innocent bystander was hit by the gunfire.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A child is expected to be OK after a shooting in the Grand Park area Saturday night, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.

At 7 p.m., officers responded to a ShotSpotter notification in the 5000 block of Cleveland Road. 

Once on scene, JSO says its preliminary investigation revealed that there was a dispute and during the dispute, one of the parties began shooting. 

During the shooting, JSO says a bystander was hit by the gunfire. Police say the bystander was a female child.

She was transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries, police say.

JSO says the search for suspects is ongoing.
