Jacksonville man in critical condition after being shot multiple times on Mid-Westside

Right now, police do not have any suspect or people of interest in the shooting. But, police do not believe there is a threat to the community.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office is investigating a shooting Monday morning on the Mid-Westside.

Around 9 a.m., JSO officers responded to the 1400 block of West 11th Street, where ShotSpotter and a 911 caller indicated a shooting had happened. Police found a man in his late 20s who had been shot several times, according to JSO.

The victim was taken to the hospital in critical condition, police said. Investigators are detaining witnesses who were in the area and gathering evidence.

Neighbors who were in the area have been very cooperative with police, according to JSO. Detectives were on their way to the scene as of 10:45 a.m.

Right now, police do not have any suspect or people of interest in the shooting. But, police do not believe there is a threat to the community in relation to the shooting.
