JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A man in his 40's sustained life threatening injuries around noon Thursday after he was struck by a bullet.
According to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office, police responded to the 5020 block of Cleveland Road after reports of a person shot.
They found the man with a gunshot to the head. He was taken to the hospital with a gunshot wound to the head.
Police say an investigation determined the victim was injured when a firearm accidentally discharged.
They have not released information regarding who was holding the gun when the firearm discharged.
