Police say woman in custody after downtown St. Augustine stabbing

The St. Augustine Police Department warned the public of heavy police presence downtown Wednesday morning while they searched for the woman.

ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. — St. Augustine police arrested a woman who was allegedly involved in the stabbing of a priest Wednesday morning. 

Police identified the woman as 22-year-old Arieana Gibbs. 

The St. Augustine Police Department warned the public Wednesday morning that heavy police presence would be in the downtown area while they searched for the suspect. 

Police located her around 10:30 a.m. 

The incident was later revealed to be connected to the stabbing of Trinity Parish Priest Matt Marino.
