GLYNN COUNTY, Ga. — A Glynn County father accused of taking his 2-year-old child from her mother and fleeing has been arrested in Wayne County, the Glynn County Police Department said.
Wednesday morning, the child's mother reported that the father had physically assaulted her, taken the child and left in his car.
Two days later, on Friday, the father was found at a home in Jesup.
The child was in good health. The father was arrested without incident.
He is charged with kidnapping, aggravated assault, battery and theft by taking.
Ten law enforcement departments across the state of Georgia collaborated to find the child. In addition to the Glynn County Police Department, they include: Hinesville Police Department, Long County Sheriff’s Office, Ludowici Police Department, McIntosh County Sheriff’s Office, Emanuel County Sheriff’s Office, Fort Steward Police Department, Jesup Police Department, Wayne County Sheriff’s Office and Screven County Sheriff’s Office.
Federal agents also aided in the investigation.
