GLYNN COUNTY, Ga. — Released dahs cam footage shows a 100 mph chase that injured a deputy Dec. 4 in Glynn County where a a deputy drove in the path of a vehicle.
On Monday, First Coast News reported that the deputy, Christopher Hatcher, was taken to the Southeast Georgia Regional Medical Center with minor injuries.
According to the sheriff's office, DeShawn Stacy had hijacked a woman's vehicle, punched the victim and her dog numerous times, and then fled at speeds greater than 120 mph. Stacy was traveling southbound on New Jesup Highway at over 70 mph in the northbound lane. After Hatcher halted Stacy, the sheriff's office said, the injured deputy pursued Stacy on foot.
Stacy was charged with obstruction of law enforcement, fleeing and attempting to elude police, serious injury by vehicle, cruelty to animals, hit-and-run, failure to maintain lane, reckless driving, theft and DUI.
