Man accused of murder at Gilligan's Island charged with witness tampering

Frank Kennedy, 55, was out on bond when he was arrested again for tampering with a witness Wednesday.

CAMDEN COUNTY, Ga. — The video attached to this story is from a previous, related report.

One of the suspects accused of tying down a man with ropes and a cinder block and drowning him at Gilligan's Island in St. Mary's, Georgia in 2023, has now been arrested again.

Frank Kennedy, 55, was arrested in the murder of John Andrew Mamph, who was 29 when he was killed in July 2023. He was granted a bond of $250,000 in February 2024 and was able to bond out. Kennedy was arrested again Wednesday, according to the Camden County Police Department.

CCPD wrote in a Facebook post that Kennedy was arrested for tampering with a witness when "justice caught up to him."

Anthony Mistretta, 27, is also accused in the murder.

Thirty-six-year-old Debra Doughtery, 33-year-old Megan Robison and 25-year-old Bernice McGuire were arrested with attempted murder in the case.

What happened?

Officers responded to Gilligan's Island, which is off of Georgia Highway 40, around noon on July 2, 2023. A witness had seen Mamph in the lake while he was riding his jet ski in the water.

A police report states that Mamph was tied up with ropes and attached to a cinder block at the bottom of the lake. They also found an "aluminum roof flashing and also a black bag full of rocks tied together" near the area where the cinder block was found.
