A Florida man was arrested Friday at a St. Augustine Walmart for allegedly stealing two donuts after only paying for one, according to court records.
Peter Paul Vigue, 52, was charged with a first-degree misdemeanor for trespassing and a second-degree misdemeanor for petit theft.
Deputies with the St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office responded to the Walmart in the 2300 block of U.S. 1 for a shoplifting call. Investigators learned that employees observed Vigue take three donuts and pay for only one of them.
He took the items, passed all points of sale and was stopped by Walmart Loss Prevention. Walmart claims they suffered a financial loss of $1.16, according to the arrest affidavit.
The suspect also was trespassing on the property following an incident that occurred on Nov. 23.
