FLAGLER COUNTY, Fla. — A Flagler County man was found guilty of first-degree murder Thursday for selling fentanyl that led to a death and sentenced to life in prison afterward.

Around 3:18 p.m. on Feb. 8, 2022, Flagler County Sheriff's Office deputies responded to a Blasdell Court home for an overdose death of a Palm Coast resident.

Investigators determined Pirraglia sold drugs laced with fentanyl to the victim.

The investigation resulted in dozens of interviews, several hours reviewing forensic evidence and following numerous other investigative leads to solve the case, the sheriff's office said. The investigation led to arrest warrants on "several related offenders and located and arrested a fugitive from justice," FCSO said in a release.

After a two-year-long investigation Pirraglia was indicted by a Flagler County Grand Jury on June 14.

Sheriff Rick Staly said the sheriff's office has arrested 11 people pertaining to overdose deaths since FCSO began investigating certain drug cases as homicide cases.

“Thanks to our incredibly hard-working team ... Brian Pirraglia will spend the rest of his life sitting in state prison and thinking about the consequences of his actions,” Sheriff Staly said. “We will continue to use every means possible to hold drug dealers accountable if they kill someone with their poison. If you are a poison peddler and sell a fatal dose in Flagler County, we are coming for you next.”
