Police: Glynn County Christmas Eve shooting that left one dead prompted by argument

More details have been released pertaining to a 13-year-old shooting 29-year-old De'Shon Harrison in Brunswick.

BRUNSWICK, Ga. — The Glynn County Police Department is continuing to investigate after a 13-year-old boy is facing murder charges following a deadly shooting on Christmas Eve in Brunswick

According to the Glynn County Police Department, officers responded to 114 Fairman Ave., west of Brunswick Country Club, regarding a shooting at approximately 10:57 p.m. on Christmas Eve. 

A incident report said officers found 29-year-old De'Shon Harrison lying on his stomach in a pool of blood, shot in the "upper right high/groin area" and applied a tourniquet. Harrison was taken to Shands Hospital in Jacksonville where he later died.

A family member of the juvenile said she was arguing with Harrison in the living room, the juvenile and Harrison later got into a fight and most likely fled to his grandmother's house, the report said. The juvenile is not named in the report.

The report said another family member told officers he was making food, heard an argument between Harrison and the woman, and a shot. He then took three children into a back room, the report continued.

Police said the 13-year-old boy accused in the shooting fled the scene on foot before officers responded. Officers located the teen and he was taken to the Regional Youth Detention Center in Waycross, Ga.
