ORANGE PARK, Fla. — Oakleaf High School has been given an "all clear" after a "swatting" call prompted a lockdown at the school and another nearby for hours Tuesday, according to the Clay County Sheriff's Office (CCSO).
The sheriff's office said in a Facebook post that the call came into the school in the morning, adding that the "unconfirmed threat" appears to be part of a statewide trend.
"Several other counties across Florida have received a similar message and our investigative team has tracked a threat similar in language up in Connecticut several times dating back the last few months," the post states.
Before the high school was given the all clear, Sheriff Michelle Cook said in a Facebook post on her page that there are no reports of any shots being fired nor anyone injured. Additionally, she said no suspects have been located.
"If you are already on scene in the area, please do not go [to] Oakleaf High School," Cook said in her Facebook post. "The parent staging area will be at the Oakleaf Amenity Center at 3979 Plantation Oaks."
Discovery Oaks Elementary School, which is located just over two miles away from Oakleaf High, told First Coast News they were on a modified lockdown due to the threat. Clay County District Schools said Plantation Oaks Elementary, Oakleaf Village Elementary and Oakleaf Junior High were placed on a modified lockdown as well.
"Your kids safety is our TOP priority and we treat all threats as if they're real," CCSO said in its Facebook post. "We appreciate everyone’s patience during this time."
