Baker County woman accused of exploiting disabled adults

Clarissa Roberson, 36, was charged with two counts of grand theft, two counts of fraud and two counts of exploitation of a disabled adult.

BAKER COUNTY, Fla. — A woman is in custody after deputies say she took $5,000 from two disabled disabled adults.

Clarissa Roberson, 36, was charged with two counts of grand theft, two counts of fraud, two counts of exploitation of a disabled adult.

According to a Baker County Sheriff's Office release, detectives began investigating a case involving Roberson on Nov. 2. They said Roberson was entrusted with assisting and caring for disabled adults. The report said the incident occurred at Cuz's One Stop Shop in Sanderson.

It was discovered that Roberson had fraudulently obtained a total of $5,000 from the victims, the release said. The victims said they neither gave nor authorized Roberson to utilize their funds for her personal use. 

Roberson was arrested Dec. 20.
