BAKER COUNTY, Fla. — A Baker County Fire Rescue employee has been arrested after sending lewd messages and photographs on a social media to a teen, the Baker County Sheriff's Office said in a social media post.

Alexamuel Vazquez Dueno, 29, was charged with transmitting harmful material to a minor and unlawful use of a two-way communication device.

Vazquez Dueno was taken into custody by detectives Wednesday following an investigation into a 12-year-old girl in South Carolina receiving lewd messages and photographs on a social media from a man in Baker County, the agency said.

The victim’s father gave the messages to investigators in Spartanburg, South Carolina. BCSO then learned that the suspect sending the messages was a Baker County fire fighter, the sheriff's office said. As authorities gathered more information, Vazquez Dueno was brought in for questioning Wednesday afternoon and arrested.

Vazquez Dueno was immediately placed on administrative leave by Baker County Fire Rescue pending a criminal investigation by BCSO. He was later terminated from BCFR, the sheriff's office said
