For years it was a mystery. Who was the little girl found found encased in concrete in a TV cabinet, left in the woods in outside of Waycross, Georgia?
Investigators finally believe they have an answer and two people are in custody for her murder. Court documents indicate Evelyn Odom, her mother, aka Zmecca Luciana and Ulyster Sanders, a man identified in the indictment as her stepfather**, murdered Kenyatta Odom in 1988.
The indictment for the state says the two submerged parts of the child's body in hot water which lead to Kenyatta's death. It further states Kenyatta's feet and legs were seriously disfigured by the hot water.
After Kenyatta's death, the indictment states Odom and Sandars put the child's body in a container then encased it in concrete and put it in the TV cabinet, and dumped her in an undeveloped part of Ware County to try and conceal her death.
Both are facing multiple charges including: Felony murder, Cruelty to Children, Aggravated Battery, and Criminal Conspiracy to Conceal Death of Another.
**Georgia Bureau of Investigation Special Agent in Charge Jason Seacrist has clarified that though the indictment calls him Kenyetta's stepfather, Sanders was Odom's live-in boyfriend, not her husband.
