JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office has made an the arrest stemming from a Northwest Jacksonville shooting last year that left a woman dead.
On Wednesday, 28-year-old Adin Bonner was arrested on a manslaughter charge in connection with the shooting, JSO announced Thursday.
The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a call of a person shot in the 9200 block of Norfolk Blvd on April 27, 2023. The victim was suffering from at least one gunshot wound and later pronounced dead after she was taken to an area hospital, police said.
During the initial investigation, detectives were told of an alleged burglary to Bonner's home, JSO said. Bonner and the victim were intimately involved on and off and had a child in common. They became involved in a verbal altercation at the home prior to Bonner leaving the residence, police said.
Bonner, who was armed with a handgun, contacted the victim where the altercation continued and shot the victim, according to police.
The victim's identity has not been released.
