NASSAU COUNTY, Fla. — Police in Nassau County arrested a 24-year-old man they say shot and killed his mother's boyfriend after an argument on Monday.
Officers in the Nassau County Sheriff's Office were notified of a shooting on the 2700 block of Rooster Lane in Hilliard, where police say Skylor Cole Johnson shot 38-year-old Richard Crews.
According to police, Crews and his girlfriend, Michelle Johnson, were arguing over finances outside their home Monday afternoon.
Skylor Johnson heard the argument, and when he went outside he saw his mother, Michelle, underneath a pickup truck, police said.
At that point, police say Skylor Johnson shot Crews several times with a 9mm handgun, unloaded the weapon and placed it in the front of a pickup truck Crews was trying to leave in. Johnson then called 911.
Crews were taken to UF Health in Jacksonville where he was pronounced dead at 1:20 p.m.
Skylor Cole Johnson was arrested on second-degree murder and booked into the Nassau County Detention Center.
