6-year-old abducted in Melbourne recovered safely in Columbia County

A victim told the Melbourne Police Department multiple women attacked her inside her home and threatened her with a knife before abducting her 6-year-old son.

COLUMBIA COUNTY, Fla. — A 6-year-old boy who was abducted during a home invasion in South Florida was recovered safely in Columbia County on Saturday afternoon, according to the Columbia County Sheriff's Office.

The Melbourne Police Department said a woman was beaten in her Brevard County home on Saturday and her 6-year-old son was taken.

The victim told officers that multiple women had attacked her and threatened her with a knife. The women were believed to be related to the child's father who lives in Alabama, according to the Melbourne Police Department.

Police obtained a description of the suspect vehicle and where it could be headed and notified the Columbia County Sheriff's Office to help coordinate attempts to locate it.

Deputies intercepted the vehicle on Interstate 10 westbound near Mile Marker 304 during a "high risk" traffic stop.

The people in the vehicle were detained and the child was recovered unharmed, according to deputies.

Four women are facing multiple charges in the incident.

Eva Ical, 32; Marcia Ical, 30; Dilia Ical, 24, and Ingris Ical, 22; face multiple charges including home invasion robbery, grand theft from a dwelling more than $100, aggravated battery, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, kidnapping, child abuse and unlawful possession of the person identification information of another person.

"We are grateful that this child was recovered safely by our deputies,” said Sheriff Mark Hunter. "Established cooperative relationships with other agencies, along with tremendous effort by our deputies helped to ensure this child was not placed in further danger. This was an outstanding job by everyone involved."
