LAWTEY, Fla. — Three people were arrested Wednesday after a woman was shot in Lawtey, according to the Bradford County Sheriff's Office.
Katelin Drerup, 18, Tristan Langkau, 20, and Randsom Norman, 18 are all facing armed burglary and criminal mischief charges after deputies said all three robbed a woman inside her home at 1336 NW 241 St.
The incident happened at around 7:36 a.m. and deputies said all three suspects held the victim at gunpoint before fleeing the scene with stolen items in a black SUV.
Later at 8:19 a.m., deputies were called to a reported shooting at 23346 NW CR 200A where they found a woman with a "massive gunshot wound to her left forearm, according to the sheriff's office.
Deputies said the victim identified "Kat" as the person who shot her through the door of an RV trailer on the property.
After the victim was rushed to a hospital in Gainesville, the shooting suspect and a male suspect were spotted walking out of a wooded area northbound from the scene. Both were taken into custody and taken to the Bradford County Sheriff's Office. Shortly after, the third suspect from the home invasion was arrested as well.
The sheriff's office said all three confessed to the home invasion and the shooting. The suspect reportedly told deputies they were hiding inside the RV after returning home from the morning's robbery. While inside the RV, the shooting victim knocked on the door to deliver a gallon of orange juice to one of the men inside.
All three suspects armed themselves upon hearing the knock, deputies said. While Drerup was charging her semiautomatic handgun, it unexpectedly discharged through the RV door, striking the victim. All three suspects then fled the RV and took off in a black SUV before all three were later arrested.
Drerup is charged with aggravated assault with a firearm, aggravated battery, armed burglary, theft and criminal mischief.
