2 people taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries after being shot in Arlington area

Police said they believe the two people who were shot in the 1000 block of Caliente Drive knew the person that shot them.

Police said that two people were taken to the hospital Friday with non-life-threatening injuries after being shot in the Arlington area, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.

Officers responded to the 1000 block of Caliente Drive after receiving reports that a shooting had taken place. At the scene, police determined that a victim had been shot in the foot. That victim was able to run to the Firestone located at University Boulevard and Los Santos Way for help. That person was taken to the hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injures, police said.

Another victim who also sustained a non-life-threatening gunshot wound was taken to a local hospital by an unknown individual, according to police.

Officers believe that the two people who were shot may have known the person who shot them. Detectives with JSO's Aggravated Battery Unit is investigating the incident.
