Two people have been injured following a shooting in Fernandina Beach Friday.
The Fernandina Beach Police said they got a call about the incident around 5:30 p.m. at S. 17th Street. Authorities told First Coast News that two groups got into an altercation, which led to gunfire.
Police said one person was shot and airlifted to UF Health in Jacksonville in critical condition, and another was hit with the gun and suffered from non-life threatening injuries. The suspects fled the scene.
The Nassau County Sheriff's Office tried conducting a traffic stop of a car heading westbound on A1A to Yulee. When the car pulled over near 86000 St. Francis Way in Yulee, some suspects fled and a chase ensued.
Deputies said they were able to capture all five suspects and said they are the suspects involved in the shooting in Fernandina Beach. They also found two weapons in the car.
Authorities don't believe the suspects are from the area. They are investigating.
