2 shot after dispute during party in Jacksonville's Woodstock area

The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office apprehended a suspect at the scene.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A suspect is in police custody after two people were shot during a party in the Woodstock area Saturday night, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.

Around 11 p.m., officers responded to the 2800 block of Sophia Street regarding two people shot.

When they arrived, two men in their early 20s were located with non-life-threatening injuries.

The victims were taken to the hospital.

Police said one person was shot in the chest and another was shot in the arm.

Investigators determined there was a dispute at a party between the suspect and victims, which ended in the suspect shooting both victims. 

The suspect was apprehended at the scene, according to police.

JSO's Violent Crimes Detectives were on the scene canvassing for witnesses and possible video surveillance. 

The investigation remains ongoing.
