13-year-old arrested, accused in deadly Christmas Eve shooting in Glynn County

The Glynn County Police Department said the 13-year-old suspect fled the scene of the crime but was ultimately located and arrested on murder charges.

GLYNN COUNTY, Ga. — A 13-year-old boy is facing murder charges after a deadly shooting on Christmas Eve in Glynn County.

According to the Glynn County Police Department, officers responded to 114 Fairman Avenue in reference to a shooting at approximately 10:57 p.m. Sunday.

Upon arrival, officers found a 29-year-old man, identified by police as De'Shon Harrison, suffering from a gunshot wound to the pelvic area.

Harrison was taken to Shands Hospital in Jacksonville where he was later pronounced dead.

Police said the 13-year-old boy accused in the shooting fled the scene on foot before officers responded. 

The GCPD K-9 unit later located the teen and arrested him on charges of murder. He was taken to the Regional Youth Detention Center in Waycross, Ga.

Right now, it is unclear if the victim and suspect knew each other, and an investigation into the shooting remains ongoing.
