Sister of slain woman holds out hope for answers

ORANGE PARK, Fla.—Three years ago, 22-year-old Amber Bass was murdered in her driveway.

Who or why remains a mystery, but her family has not lost hope in finding justice.

“She was such a light; it’s only fitting to have a lantern release for her every year,” says Bass’s older sister, Robin Lezcano.

On July 29, 2013, the Bass family lost their younger daughter.

“Just coming home on a night out with friends – was targeted by unknown people who set out to rob her and then they left her for dead in our driveway,” says Lezcano.

She says it’s been three long years waiting for justice – and they don’t want Bass to be among the forgotten.

“We’re extremely frustrated and angry at this point, we’re kind of past the point of being said and it’s just motivation to keep pushing through,” says Lezcano.

Justice for Amber, a Facebook page, contains Bass’s information and remains active for anyone with information about that night to come forward.

“It’s just something I wouldn’t wish on my worst enemy,” Lezcano says, “So you need to do your part and come forward with what information you have so that we can get these people off the street.”
