The daughter of fallen Nassau County deputy Eric Oliver was treated to an early Christmas Wednesday morning.

Eric lost his life chasing after a suspected undocumented immigrant on State Road 210 when he was struck and killed by a car. He left behind a wife, a daughter and many, many friends.

Shelby Oliver, 6, lost her father on that Nov. 22 day. Gifts were collected from around the community as well as the U.S.

"The smiles that she displayed when she saw them were priceless," Nassau Sheriff Bill Leeper said via email.

Her favorite gift? The San Antonio Police Department sent her a necklace in the shape of Nassau sheriff's office badge with her father's name on it.

Thanks to everyone who made what was surely a difficult holiday season a little better for one little girl.
