A man was rescued Saturday morning after he was reportedly unresponsive aboard a vessel 12 miles east of Cumberland Island in Georgia, according to the U.S. Coast Guard.
The Coast Guard Sector of Jacksonville received a call from a good Samaritan at 10:10 regarding the unresponsive man.
Crews from the Coast Guard Air Station Savannah MH-65 Dolphin helicopter and the Coast Guard Heron were dispatched to the scene to assist, the Coast Guard said.
The Dolphin crew hoisted the man and rushed him to UF Health Jacksonville.
The vessel was towed by the Heron crew and handed off to the Nassau County Sheriff's Office who continued to tow it to Dee Dee Bartels Public Boat Ramp, according to the Coast Guard.
