ATF investigation launched in Bartram Springs neighborhood

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. --- A Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives investigation was launched at a Bartram Springs home early Thursday morning, authorities said. 

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. --- A Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives investigation was launched at a Bartram Springs home early Thursday morning, authorities said.

Neighbors near the home on Falling Waters Drive tell First Coast News that ATF had guns drawn and detained several people.

"ATF was a conducting lead on a joint operation with JSO & FDLE, serving search warrants to reduce violent crime and protect the citizens of Jacksonville," ATF said in a statement released to First Coast News.

The agency also confirmed two raids were made on Thursday.

The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office has acknowledged its officers are assisting ATF, but are referring all questions about the case to the primary investigative team.
