JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — You can help a 1-month-old tiger cub at the Jacksonville Zoo celebrate her first Christmas.
The 8-pound tiger cub, whose name is available for sponsorship, continues to grow and needs enrichment items to help strengthen her teeth and muscles, the Jacksonville Zoo and Gardens said.
The cub's wish-list to Santa Claus includes items ranging from wind chimes and wind socks to Boomer balls and bungee cords to promote her playful instincts.
But you too can give the cub an enrichment gift by visiting the zoo's Amazon Wish List. The toys can be purchased by anyone and shipped directly to the zoo.
The birth of the cub is the first in over three decades, the zoo said, and she is an important addition to the critically endangered population. According to the zoo, there are only an estimated 400 Sumatran tigers in the wild.
