Second Jacksonville resident in a week claims $1 million prize from Florida Lottery

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Jacksonville is on a winning streak when it comes to the Florida Lottery. Two men who call the city home have claimed a $1 million prize from The Florida Lottery this week.

On Thursday, The Florida Lottery announced that Muoi Phung, of Jacksonville, claimed a $1 million prize from the $5,000,000 CASHWORD Scratch-Off game.

Phung chose to receive her winnings as a one-time, lump-sum payment of $780,000.00. Sh epurchased his winning ticket from Shad Liquor, located at 5285 Shad Road in Jacksonville. 

The retailer will receive a $2,000 bonus commission for selling the winning Scratch-Off ticket. 

The $20 game, $5,000,000 CASHWORD, launched in May 2020 and features eight top prizes of $5 million and 24 second tier prizes of $1 million! The game’s overall odds of winning are one-in-2.91. 

On Wednesday, The Florida Lottery announced Artur Kalemi, 39, of Jacksonville, claimed a $1 million prize from the 500X THE CASH Scratch-Off game at the Lottery’s Jacksonville District Office. 

He chose to receive his winnings as a one-time, lump-sum payment of $820,000.00. 

Kalemi purchased his winning ticket from Smokers Plus, located at 10910 Atlantic Boulevard in Jacksonville. The retailer will receive a $2,000 bonus commission for selling the winning Scratch-Off ticket.  

The game’s overall odds of winning are 1-in-4.50.
