More than 30 employers across a wide range of industries and retailers across the First Coast are looking to hire workers at a virtual hiring fair this week.

CareerSource Northeast Florida is hosting the event from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday. Some of the companies participating include Brooks Rehabilitation, Flagler Technical College, Metric Engineering and the Florida Department of Transportation, the Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department and the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.

“We continue to receive requests from our partner employers in the region that are eager to fill thousands of open jobs in Northeast Florida," said CareerSource NEFL President Bruce Ferguson in a news release announcing the hiring event. "So we plan to continue holding these virtual job fairs into 2022 to help our businesses connect with job seekers in our area."

CareerSource NEFL will schedule virtual job fairs at least once a month to connect job seekers with open positions, the release says.

Job seekers who wish to take part must register in advance. They will be able to speak with representatives from a variety of industries on the day of the hiring event.
