Here's how to share storm-related pictures, videos with First Coast News

A step-by-step tutorial on how to share your pictures and videos.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — As Hurricane Helene makes its way through the Gulf of Mexico, First Coast News, On Your Side wants you to send your photos and videos of its impact.

Whether it may be flooding, property damage, downed trees or roads that have been impacted, you can always share how the storm is affecting you via the 'Near Me' function on the First Coast News app.

Here's a step-by-step tutorial on how to use Near Me:

  1. Download the First Coast News app
  2. Click the Near Me tab on the bottom right of your device
  3. Select 'Share with Us' in the top left
  4. Upload your photos and videos! Only a maximum of three photos or one video can be uploaded at a time, as a 40 MB file max and .jpg and .png formats for pictures will only be accepted. For videos, a 16 GB file max and mp4, m4v, mov and 3gp formats will only be accepted.
  5. Give the photo or video a title (For example: Flooding at ankle-deep level at Beach Boulevard and St. Johns Bluff Road South intersection in Jacksonville)
  6. Fill out the next boxes to put your name on the submission, provide your email address, and type in the location of where the photo and/or video was taken from
  7. Lastly, hit submit!
