ST. JOHNS COUNTY, Fla — Due to overcrowding, the St. Johns County Pet Center is waiving the $60 adoption fee for dogs through June 29

Each adopted dog comes with complimentary spaying or neutering and microchipping, the agency said. The Pet Center also offers free pet toys and food while supplies last.

The Pet Center is coping with overcrowding due to increased pet surrenders and strays this month.

“We are committed to finding loving homes for all our dogs,” Animal Control Division Manager Paul Studivant said. “By waiving adoption fees and providing essential services and supplies, we hope to encourage more adoptions and reduce overcrowding in our facility.”

Visit www.sjcfl.us/pet-center and select the PetFinder link to view available pets and begin the adoption process. The Pet Center’s adoption hours are 9 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Tuesday through Friday and 9 a.m.-4 p.m. on Saturdays.

The St. Johns County Pet Center can be reached out at 904-209-6190.
