First Coast News is delving into an issue that many couples don’t often talk about openly; infertility. Good Morning Jacksonville Anchor, Keitha Nelson is sharing her own personal battle with infertility and going through the In Vitro Fertilization process.
Part II: The process in the U.S
Before heading to Barbados, I started the IVF process in the states with lots of labs and lots of medication.
I didn't think it was possible to fill up so many vials with my blood in one sitting, but I did. And the medication, well it was pretty overwhelming. It didn't take long for the process to take a toll on me.
When you've wanted something for so many years and it finally appears to be attainable, you'll do whatever it takes to make your dream a reality.
You'll spend thousands of dollars you don't really have, take countless injections you're somewhat afraid of, subject your mind and body to painful experiences... for me- I did it all in the hopes of finally becoming a mommy.
For any of you looking into possibly going through Invitro Fertilization, know you're in for one wild ride.
Throughout the week I'll share some very difficult moments and a few happy ones as well, on Good Morning Jacksonville.
