Chick-fil-A donates 100K to Orange Park nonprofit Waste Not Want Not

Over the last 7 years, a local Chick-fil-A donated more than 46,000 meals to Waste Not Want Not.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Chick-fil-A donated $100K to an Orange Park nonprofit in honor of its efforts to reduce food insecurity in the greater Jacksonville area.

The nonprofit, Waste Not Want Not, helps to feed those in need across 14 counties.

Over the last 7 years, a local Chick-fil-A donated more than 46,000 meals to Waste Not Want Not as part of the Chick-fil-A shared table program which works to donate surplus food to nonprofits.

Chick-fil-A surprised the nonprofit with a check for $100,000 on Friday.

There are no restrictions on the donation. Waste Not Want Not says for every dollar they receive, they can buy 10 pounds of food.

The Chick-fil-A shared table program has donated 23 million meals throughout the U.S. and Canada since 2012.
