JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A Baton Rouge, Louisiana-based fast food chain known for its chicken fingers could make its first foray into Jacksonville near the Oakleaf Town Center.
According to a JEA service availability letter, the address for a new Raising Cane's is tentatively listed as 0 Merchant's Way, between Gator's Dockside and a Bank of America branch. On 1.21 acres, the restaurant is targeting a 2,691-square-foot location on with a patio at Argyle Forest and Merchants Way.
Originally receiving a C- in a business plan class, the chain was founded in 1996 with a Small Business Administration loan. It now has more than $1 Billion in annual revenue and 740 restaurants across 37 states. There are 14 locations in Florida, with the nearest to the First Coast in Gainesville. The restaurant has rapidly expanded this year, adding about 80 locations in 2023
The chain is signature items include chicken fingers, chicken sandwiches, Texas Toast and Cane's Sauce.
