JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Mixed Fillings Pie Shop in Jacksonville's Five Points location is set to close "after much consideration," the family-owned and operated shop announced Wednesday on their Instagram page in a post, as well as in a post on their Facebook page.
The eatery says it wasn't an easy decision, but that it was "time for a new chapter in our journey."
Natasha Burton opened Mixed Fillings Pie Shop during the pandemic after moving to Jacksonville and losing her job. A major inspiration for the pie shop was her organization, Society of Survivors, which empowers childhood sexual abuse survivors to become advocates, she told First Coast News in 2021.
The posts do not mention the last day the shop will be open, as they encourage us to "stay tuned." Furthermore, preorders can still be placed for July and August, the posts state.
"Thank you for your endless support and love," the caption on the posts read. "We can’t wait to share our next steps with you!"
In a response to a commentor who asked under the pie shop's Instagram post if they are closing or relocating, the shop replied: "We don't know yet, we're definitely closing this location. It was unexpected. We are looking for a new home though."
