A beached manatee was rescued at Naval Station Mayport Thursday morning.
The Naval Station Mayport Environmental Team was assisted by Florida Fish and Wildlife to rescue the beached animal on Mayport Beach sometime around 9 a.m.
According to Naval Station Mayport, the manatee is was transported to Jacksonville Zoo via truck to receive medical care.
