One tiger cub temporarily out of Jacksonville Zoo exhibit. Here's why

Zoo officials say they're hopeful that 'Mina' can reunite with her two siblings in the Land of the Tiger exhibit after the summer is over.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Zoo officials say they are hopeful one of the tiger cubs at Jacksonville Zoo and Gardens can reunite with her mother and two siblings soon in the 'Land of the Tiger' exhibit.

The zoo says hopefully the cub named 'Mina' can join her family after the summer is over. She is currently recovering from surgery and an infection after breaking her leg in her first month of living in the tiger enclosure.

Mina broke her leg while playing with her brother and sister, according to the zoo, as her medical treatments have topped $30,000.

“And that doesn’t even factor in the volunteer hours we've gotten from radiographers,  anesthesiologists and surgeons to do the procedures,” Curtis Dvorak, Jacksonville Zoo and Gardens spokesperson said.

The zoo says she is expected to make a full recovery.
