Aphrodite Jones to speak in Live Oak

LIVE OAK, Fla. — On Sept. 14, bestselling author Aphrodite Jones will be in Live Oak.

Jones will be speaking at the Hope and Justice Dinner for Suwannee Valley Unsolved. The organization was formed to shed light on cold cases in the Suwannee Valley region.

Money from the Hope and Justice Dinner will be used for its Unsolved Victim Advocate Program.

First Coast News' Katie Jeffries will be emceeing the dinner and had a chance to speak with Jones about why advocating for cold cases is a passion for her.

"It is incredible that we now see cases that are solved 50 years later," Jones told First Coast News. "People will come forward, who were afraid to come forward 30 or 20 years ago, and it is because of that. And because cold case detectives reopen cases and go through new evidence and discover new evidence, that cases are able to be solved."

She adds the focus of her talk at the Hope and Justice Dinner will be around the subject of her latest book, Levi's Eyes, which delves into the murders of Christina and Levi Karlsen.

If you would like to meet Jones in-person and hear her speak, you can purchase a ticket for the Hope and Justice Dinner here, or here.
