July 5 Beaches Cleanup event turns into love story for two volunteers | She said yes 💍💑

Deb and Dan met volunteering at the Beaches Cleanup event two years ago. He proposed to her two years later at the same event Tuesday. She said yes.

JACKSONVILLE BEACH, Fla. — What the July 5th Beaches Cleanup has brought together, let no man put asunder. Deb and Dan met at the event in 2020. On Tuesday, two years to the day they picked up after messy beach goers together, Dan got down on one knee and asked for Deb's hand in marriage. She said yes!

The Beaches Sea Patrol Facebook page announced the couple's engagement Tuesday with the following post:

"Wishing our dear friends, Deb and Dan, heart-felt congratulations on their engagement this morning! They met at our beach clean up two years ago when Deb was a new volunteer. Dan is the man in charge of our clean up partner, Keep Jacksonville Beautiful. What better time and place to get engaged than this year's clean up. If you never thought that volunteering can be life-changing, just ask these two!"
