Dr. Ali Kasraeian, named among "America's Top Surgeons" by the Consumers' Research Council of America, has a passionate interest in a personalized approach to prostate cancer care.
Fellowship trained in advanced laparoscopic, robotic and minimally invasive urological surgery at the world renowned Montsouris Institute in Paris, France, Dr. Kasraeian has expertise in open, laparoscopic and robotic urological surgery. In addition, he is one of the only experienced HIFU surgeons in the region. High Intensity Focused Ultrasound is a non-invasive ablative therapy for localized prostate cancer that requires no surgery and no radiation.
Dr. Kasraeian is a Jacksonville native. A Bolles High School alumni, he continued his education at THE University of Florida, where he pursued his undergraduate and medical school training. He remained at the University of Florida College of Medicine to complete his internship in General Surgery and residency in Urology before traveling to Paris, France for his minimally invasive urological surgery fellowship.
During his training, Dr. Kasraeian took great pride and pleasure in his role as an educator both at the University of Florida and internationally during his time in Paris. In 2005, he was awarded the Excellence in Medical Education Award by the University of Florida College of Medicine Society of Teaching Scholars. Dr. Kasraeian currently serves as a clinical instructor at the Nova Southeastern Physician Assistant program here in Jacksonville.
Dr. Kasraeian returned to Jacksonville in 2008 to join his father, Dr. Ahmad Kasraeian, at Kasraeian Urology. Dr. Ahmad Kasraeian, named among America's top 7 percent of physicians, and honored as one of US News & World Report's "Best Doctors," started Kasraeian Urology in 1986. Coming from a family of physicians, Ali's mother, Dr. Shahla Masood, is a world renowned breast cancer expert and chair of the Department of Pathology at UF Health. His brother, Sina, is an orthopedic surgeon fellowship trained in Arthroscopy and Sports Medicine and currently practices at Orthopedic Associates of St. Augustine.
Dr. Kasraeian also hosts The Conversation: A Radio Show, where he discusses current trends in healthcare as they relate to you. He keep you up to date on the newest medical advances and helps you stay informed on the politics of health care. Navigating the world of health can be a challenge and real answers are often hard to come by.
