The USS Tornado returned to Naval Station Mayport Tuesday from their 78-day deployment in the Eastern Pacific Ocean and the Caribbean Sea.
While deployed, the ship worked with Coast Guard counterparts and boarded several vessels that resulted in the disruption of more than 1,100 kilograms of contraband valued at over $32 million.
The ship returned to Mayport around 8:50 a.m., and family members embraced each other as the crewmates got off the ship.
The USS Tornado is the 14th and final class patrol coastal boat, according to www.navysite.de.
