JACKSONVILLE, Florida — A familiar face returns to Northeast Florida Saturday – but not in his usual spot behind the anchor desk.
Former First Coast News Anchor Shannon Odgen performs as part of the monthlong Sing Out Loud Festival.
The annual music festival is Florida’s largest and the best part? It's free. Various musical acts will be hosted at venues around St. Augustine throughout September.
The 2019 event includes hundreds of performers, including headliners Kasey Musgraves, Shovels and Rope, Kurt Vile, GZA, Son Volt, Dirty Dozen Brass Band, The Growlers and Jenny Lewis,
Ogden, who worked at First Coast News for a decade, left to work in Denver Colorado in 2016. While living in Jacksonville, he began regularly performing acoustic original and cover songs, including his final gig opening for Night Ranger at the Florida Theatre.
Since moving to Denver as a lead anchor at KMGH Denver7, he has continued playing at venues in Denver and recently released a CD of original music.
