Lights turned off at Deck The Chairs in Jacksonville Beach due to rainy weather

Deck The Chairs organizers say lights will be turned off due to Sunday's rainy weather that could potentially cause electrical problems.

JACKSONVILLE BEACH, Fla. — Deck The Chairs organizers say the lights at the holiday display in Jacksonville Beach will be turned off all-day Sunday due to rainy weather and for safety reasons, according to a news release.

The Deck The Chairs exhibit team says they are expecting rain to saturate the Latham Park space, "creating potential electrical problems for the evening lights," the release states. In addition, organizers say Sunday concessions have also been canceled and park displays will not be turned on until grounds dry out to safely restore all the power.

"Deck The Chairs expects the space to be fully lit for Monday evening and the remainder of the week," the release states. "Organizers apologize for any inconveniences that this might create."

Deck The Chairs will also fill James Weldon Johnson Park in front of Jacksonville City Hall starting Dec. 6.
