Finally, we know the first cast member of True Detective's Season 2: Colin Farrell.
The actor confirmed the casting news to Irish newspaper Sunday World, and said that he's "so excited" to star in the miniseries. He added (via Buzzfeed):
I know it will be eight episodes and take around four or five months to shoot. I know very little about it, but we're shooting in the environs of Los Angeles which is great. It means I get to stay at home and see the kids.
HBO hasn't yet confirmed the news, but IMDb has listed Colin Farrell as a credited cast member on Episode #2.1 of the show. Some stars rumored to join Farrell on the Emmy-winning show include:
Rachel McAdams
Elisabeth Moss
Taylor Kitsch
Vince Vaughn
It's definitely the hot show for a film star to use as their small-screen debut. Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson co-starred on Season 1 of True Detective and earned Emmy nominations. Cary Fukunaga won an Emmy for directing the HBO series.
