JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A Christmas display on the Southside is warming hearts and filling the neighborhood with cheer.

John and Kaylen Paredes have captured their neighbor's attention with their twinkling lights, inflatable Santas, and other dazzling displays. This is the couple's 22nd year decorating their home on the Southside.

The Paredes' have two grown children now. John said he puts in the work to transform his home for the holidays for the smiles on kids' and parents' faces. He said it makes him happy when they slow down in awe.

Monday, his next-door neighbor's granddaughter ran up to one of the Santas and said "Christmas." John described her eyes and smile as bright and wide.

John said one time he had a car stop in front of the house and a small boy poked his head out the window and asked, "Why don't you have a Baby Yoda?" The next day, he went to the store and bought one.

Kaylen's favorite decoration is the Baby Yoda (Din Grogu).  John said they bought it just before her sister who was mentally disabled passed away from a 7-year battle with apendical cancer.

"Baby Yoda was her sister's favorite! It helps her remember all good Christmas memories with her," John said.

John's favorites are the archway that goes up to the house and the 15-foot Santa.

The couple's creativity knows no bounds. Every year, John adds more decorations. He said that usually happens after Christmas when they go to 50 percent off.

"Christmas has always meant a lot to me and Kaylen," John said. "We are both devout Christians. I love all the magic, hopes, and dreams that come with the season."

He asks neighbors to take a drive by the area at night if they find themselves on Bay Ridge Road on Jacksonville's Southside.
