Tim Thomas is President and General Manager of First Coast News. Before moving back to Florida in 2023, Tim oversaw the TEGNA operations at NewsWest 9/KWES and FOX West Texas/KXVA & KIDY in Texas. His leadership skills include managing client expectations while driving overall station growth through inclusive leadership.
Tim has 25+ years of management experience with Media General, the Christian Multimedia Network, and Gannett. Tim has worked in several TEGNA markets, including as Quality Control/Station Operations Manager at 11Alive/WXIA, where he successfully organized and managed Super Bowl LIII coverage for the company.
In Florida, Tim drives revenue, and ratings share through his ability to facilitate creative thinking, inclusive with better communication and clear focus, while connecting with the communities the stations serve.
Tim has helped to create niche local and national shows that drive content and revenue for local stations and TEGNA Media.
When not working alongside the dedicated journalist of First Coast News, Tim enjoys traveling worldwide with his family and is a theme park and Syfy movie junkie.
