Tristan Hardy joined the First Coast News team in 2021 as a multiskilled journalist.
Born in Texas, Tristan grew up in Dallas and earned his B.A. from Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches. The same place where he pledged the Phi Delta chapter of Sigma Lambda Beta International Fraternity, Inc.
Tristan’s excited to call Jacksonville and First Coast News home. He moved to the sunshine state in August of 2021. Three years prior to FCN, Tristan was a reporter for the NBC affiliate in Decatur, Illinois. In 2015, he started his career in journalism as a bureau reporter in Longview, TX with CBS 19 in Tyler.
His most memorable story involved two Decatur children who raised more than $2,000 by selling snacks and homemade candles outside of their home. The money was used to pay for their grandmother’s chemotherapy. Afterwards, they donated $500 to the Cancer Care Center of Decatur.
While living in Jacksonville, Tristan’s motto is “make a difference”. He wants to share your stories and amplify voices in every community. In his spare time, Tristan enjoys collecting vinyl records, reading comic books and visiting local businesses.
You have a better chance finding him overly active on social media.
