Tim Deegan is Chief Meteorologist at First Coast News, broadcasting the weather during the weekday evening newscasts.
Tim joined First Coast News in 1982 and has been broadcasting the weather across the First Coast ever since. Prior to joining First Coast News, Tim worked at KRIS in Corpus Christi, Texas and KBTX in Bryan, Texas.
Tim graduated from Texas A&M University in 1981 with his Bachelor of Science in Meteorology. The following year, he became a certified member of the American Meteorological Society.
In 2005, Tim became one of the first 100 people to become an AMS certified broadcaster.
Tim is well-known for his community involvement and especially for his interest in teaching kids about meteorology. Tim spends a great deal of his free time working with his wife, Jacksonville Mayor Donna Deegan on her foundation, the Donna Foundation, dedicated to helping those living with breast cancer.
Tim has 3 daughters and 4 grandchildren. When he’s not sharing the wonders of the weather, you are likely to find Tim spending time in or around the ocean.
