Drew Cosgray is a multiskilled journalist for First Coast News.

Drew comes to the First Coast all the way from Indiana, where he grew up and attended school at DePauw University. It was at DePauw, as a first-year student, that he found his love for journalism and decided he wanted to pursue a career in broadcast journalism. During Drew’s junior year of college, he went to El Paso, Texas, originally for an internship, but eventually it turned into a full-time reporting position. By the end of his time in El Paso, he was the nightside breaking news reporter for KVIA-TV covering events on the border. Drew interned for two summers in his hometown market of Indianapolis at WISH-TV 8 and was a reporter for the Emmy-nominated show “FFA Live!” covering the National FFA Convention in Indianapolis.

His senior year of college, he started his own podcast: “Coffee with Cosgray," which he did out of his Sigma Chi fraternity room, bringing in journalists from all around the country and having conversations with them. At DePauw, Drew was awarded the Mary Smith Hamer Journalism Prize, which is given to a DePauw student who has excelled in journalistic endeavors and who has demonstrated promise in journalism.

Outside the newsroom, he loves to travel with his best friends, whether that be hiking Machu Picchu in Peru, seeing the Parthenon in Greece, or seeing the Sagrada Família in Spain.

An avid sports fan, he watches the Chicago Cubs, Purdue Boilermaker basketball and don’t be surprised if you see him running the riverwalk or to the nearest movie theater to catch a movie. You can follow Drew on Twitter (X) here, Instagram here, or on Facebook here.
